You will learn to recognize typical and less typical symptoms, with the NYHA classification serving as a tool to assess them correctly. This is followed by an in-depth exploration of differential diagnoses and the identification of causes. Subsequently, the course provides you with tools to formulate a preliminary diagnosis and communicate clearly about it with your patient. Additionally, you will discover which treatments are meaningful at an early stage. You will learn when to measure natriuretic peptides and how to translate the NICE recommendations into your practice. Finally, the role of echocardiography and ejection fraction will be explained, as well as the distinction between heart failure with preserved or reduced ejection fraction.
