RIZIV recognition number: 26021340
This training teaches general practitioners how to correctly set up and guide advance care planning as a continuous consultation process between healthcare provider, patient, and relatives. You will gain insight into the different types of advance directives — current versus prior, positive versus negative, during life versus post-mortem — and learn how these relate to patient rights. Through concrete cases, the negative and positive advance directives are explored in depth. Furthermore, the complete euthanasia declaration is addressed: from the types of requests and the legislative amendment of March 2020, to drafting, validity period, and procedural requirements. Finally, the distinction between a trusted person and a representative is clarified, including the cascade arrangement.
