As a physician, you play a central role in the exercise of your patients' rights. Through this e-learning, we aim to guide you through the Patients' Rights Act and the recent reforms in 2024.
The following topics will be addressed in this digital session. We will first discuss the background and the process of the legislative amendment, the relevant definitions, and the scope of the law. We will then delve deeper into collaboration and mutual respect, multidisciplinary consultation, and the right to quality service and free choice. We will also extensively cover information about health status, informed consent, the patient file and the right to access, respect for privacy and intimacy, the right to complain and the ombudsman function, pain management, and the role of the confidant. Additionally, we will address the exercise of patients' rights by minors and legally incompetent adults, including the cascade arrangement and the recent changes therein, and we will conclude with the escape clauses.
